Dermatologists can’t rave enough about vitamin C serums and there’s good reason for it. From brightening your skin to helping in reducing dark spots and uneven texture, vitamin C serums have been widely used in daily skincare routines and aren’t going away anytime soon. If you’re in the market for a new vitamin C serum or you’ve never tried it for yourself, we’ve tested one of the most popular and affordable serums out there, and the results are absolutely worth testing it out for yourself.
Ahead—our real thoughts on InstaNaturals Vitamin C serum and all the reasons why it might be worth space in your skincare regime.
About My Skin: I’m a daily vitamin C user
I have combination and sensitive skin with type 1 rosacea. I use a vitamin C serum every single morning after cleansing and before sunscreen. I don’t have any texture issues at the moment, but it’s important for me to continue to protect my skin at all costs and help brighten up my complexion. The most notable vitamin C serum I’ve used in the past is Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Acid Serum.
How To Apply: Pat it in with your fingers
After cleansing you’ll want to dispense a dropper full on the palms of your hands and pat all over the face (and neck if you choose) until the serum is absorbed. While a lot of people tend to rub skincare products in, you can also choose to do that if you’re more comfortable with it. I will say that patting the serum helps the skin to absorb it well. Wait until the serum has fully dried before moving onto your moisturizer. If you only want to wear the serum, it’s best practice to follow up with sunscreen as your last step.
The Results: My Skin Felt Hydrated
A few things I noticed after applying the serum were how quickly it absorbed into my skin and that it wasn’t sticky or greasy. I am not the biggest fan of strong fragrance in my skincare products, so it’s important to keep in mind this serum does have fragrance for anyone who might be sensitive. There are some days that I applied makeup right after the serum, and others that I applied sunscreen and then my makeup to test out how well it worked with foundation and concealer.
The Value: Too good to be true
For the ingredients this serum contains and how well it wears on the skin, the price of $22 feels almost too good to be true. It’s an incredible value for the results it gives and is incredibly budget-friendly for skincare making it a total win in our book.
